Before you start washing your wool sweater, it is important to go through a few preparatory steps:
When washing a wool sweater, the water temperature is very important. Always use cold or lukewarm water, as hot water can shrink the fibres. A temperature between 30°C and 40°C is ideal for maintaining the quality of the wool.
Use a special detergent for wool or a mild liquid detergent . This helps protect the fibers and prevents them from drying out or getting damaged. To make the sweater smell even better, a few drops of laundry perfume is a good solution.
There are several methods to wash your wool sweater:

Lay the sweater flat on a clean towel and carefully roll up the towel to remove excess water. Then you can lay the sweater flat on a dry towel again to dry.
If wool dries too slowly, it will definitely stink. Moisture almost always causes the nasty smell in wool. So make sure the sweater can dry in a well-ventilated space, but preferably outside! Of course, it also helps to add a cap of laundry perfume during the wash.
