Drying laundry can sometimes be a time-consuming task, especially if you are dependent on the weather. Fortunately, there are several clever tricks you can use to help your laundry dry faster. In this article, we discuss 7 clever ways to dry your laundry outside.

1. Choose the right time of day

The time of day you hang your laundry out can make a big difference. It is advisable to hang your laundry out in the late morning or early afternoon. At these times the sun is at its strongest and the humidity is often at its lowest, which will significantly reduce the drying time.

2. Increase air circulation

Good air circulation is essential for fast drying. Make sure your laundry has enough space to breathe. Do not hang clothes too close together and use a clothesline or drying rack that allows sufficient air to pass through.

3. Use a tumble dryer for the first phase

If your laundry is still damp after washing, consider putting it in the tumble dryer before hanging it outside. This will shorten the time your laundry has to dry outside and will ensure that it dries faster. Of course, keep in mind whether the clothing is suitable for the tumble dryer.

4. Take advantage of bright sunshine

The sun is a powerful natural drying agent. If you have the opportunity to dry your laundry outside, take advantage of sunny days. The sun not only helps with drying, but also removes odors and bacteria. Be careful: colored laundry can bleach in the sun, and whites will become whiter! So hang dark and colored clothing in the shade and bring it inside as soon as it is dry.

5. Choose the right location

Hang your laundry in a place where the wind has free play. An open space with lots of sunlight is ideal for drying your laundry outside.

6. Use dryer balls

Adding a few dryer balls to your laundry in the dryer ( if you use them in the first stage ) can help to promote air circulation. This can also have a positive effect on drying when you hang your laundry outside later.
